Attorney General Shera Lhundup


Shera Lhundup was appointed Attorney General on 22 May 2015. A commitment to service marks the career of Attorney General Lhundup. He graduated with a Bachelors (Honours) Degree in Arts and Humanities from Sherubtse College, Kanglung, Bhutan. He received his LL.B in 1996 from Government Law College, University of Bombay, India and PGDNL from Judiciary. Shera later received his LL.M in 2001 from George Washington University Law School, Washington, D.C. with special focus on fundamental issues in the U.S. Law, Environmental crimes, Craft of Judging, Legislative drafting, and Art of Negotiations.

He started his career as Deputy Registrar General with the High Court in 1992 and has served for over six years as special Legal Counsel to Royal Family Members on Property matters in India. After drafing environmetal laws with National Environment Comission, he was appointed as District Judge in 2006. In 2009, he resigned from sevice and started his private law firm and praticed till he was appointed as the Attorney General.
